Services

Dogs

At Walks & Whiskers, we treat every dog as if they were our own, ensuring peace of mind that they are in safe hands. We are fully insured, DBS checked and have completed a K9 First Aid Course.

Dog Walking

At Walks & Whiskers we offer dog walking sessions tailed to your dog’s needs, with options for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. We offer solo walks to give your dog our undivided attention, or small group walks with two or three carefully matched dogs for further enrichment and socialisation. Additionally, our Walks & Whiskers mascot, Lottie the Dalmatian, enjoys joining walks with her friends whenever possible!

Pop-in Visits

Sometimes a walk isn’t suitable for our canine friends. That’s why we offer a 20-minute pop-in visit, perfect for giving your furry friend a chance to stretch their legs, have a toilet break, enjoy some fresh air, playtime, and, of course, cuddles!

Puppy Play Visits

If your puppy is too young to go on walks, this option is pawfect for them! Play sessions engage your puppy with a variety of toys and games to help burn off energy and stimulate mental activity. If you have already started basic training, let us know what you have been working on, and we will continue to instil what your puppy has been learning!

Wedding Chaperone

Imagine having your best friend there at your wedding! At Walks & Whiskers, we offer a wedding chaperone service to ensure your dog is cared for throughout your special day. Whether you want your furry friend to play a special role or just join you for photos, we’ve got it covered!

Frequently Asked Questions

Dog Walking with Lucy

Here are some common questions answered to help reassure you that your dog is in safe, loving and capable hands.

Are you insured and first aid trained?

Yes, I am fully insured, DBS checked, and have completed a K9 First Aid course, all of which I can provide proof for during our meet and greet.

Do you walk in all weathers?

As a dog walker, I believe there is no such thing as bad weather – it’s bad clothing choices!

During the summer months, I monitor the forecast, liaise with clients and will switch walks to garden visits to ensure the dog’s safety during extreme heat.

Winter will always bring unpredictable weather, and so long as clients and their dogs are happy, I’m willing to walk in all weathers. Before leaving, I always towel off dogs, clean their paws, and ensure they have fresh water and are comfortable.

Can you walk dogs of all ages?

Of course! We understand every dog (puppy, adult or senior) requires love, care and different levels of physical and mental exercises. The frequency and duration of walks a dog needs can depend on several factors, including its breed, age, health and energy level. That’s why we offer dog walking in 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions or we can provide a 20 minute pop-in visit.

Do you offer solo or group walks?

We are pleased to provide both! Initially, we offered solo walks to take our time getting to know each dog, and will continue to do so. We can now pair compatible dogs together to enrich their walking experience. Additionally, our mascot, Lottie the dalmatian enjoys coming along on walks wherever possible.

Do you provide overnight stays?

I’m unable to stay in your home overnight while you are away as our services are limited to daytime care and visits. This policy ensures I can provide quality pet care to all my clients while maintaining a schedule.

Walks & Whiskers provide ‘pop-in’ services, designed for regular dog care at frequent intervals throughout the day.

Do you offer a meet & greet?

Yes, I always offer a free meet & greet so you and your dog can meet me, discuss your dog’s needs, and complete the necessary paper work which will provide me with any medication instructions, vet contact info, your contact info and any specific care instructions.

Do you send updates and photos?

One of my favourite parts of the job is updating you about your dog’s time with me! I always send a little update throughout the day, sometimes worded from your dogs perspective! As part of the meet & greet I will always seek your consent before using any photos or videos on social media and enjoy creating reels and posts about the fun we have!

How often should my dog be walked?

The frequency and duration of walks a dog needs can depend on several factors, including its breed, age, health and energy level. For adult dogs, it is recommend to be walked at least twice a day, senior dogs at least once a day and puppies three-to-four times a day are common. It’s is essential for your pets well-being to tailor the walking routine to your dogs specific needs.

Regular walks help maintain your dog’s physical health, preventing obesity and related health issues.
